If the clog is made up of organic matter or toilet paper, it should be easy to remove. Here are the steps you need to take:

• Remove the cover on the tank and disconnect the chain so the valve stays shut
• Fill a cup with hot water (the hotter the better)
• Pour hot water into the toilet and wait for it to dissolve the clog
• If the hot water doesn’t work, add soap
