Watch the Windows
Your home maintenance care should include looking after your windows. You can preserve their life and effectiveness by keeping the weep holes clean. These holes are found at the bottom of vinyl windows on the outside. They drain rainwater that collects in the frame. However, these can become clogged with dirt and other debris. If you don’t clean them out, water can enter your home. Removing items from the holes will save you from having to spend money on cleanup and repairs in your house.
Taking care of this issue is simple. Using a can of compressed air, you can clear out the hole. It’s also effective to take something, such as a knife or screwdriver, to the hole and dig out the blockage. You can then test the hole to make sure it keeps moisture out by spraying water from a hose on the window.
